Shared context, private conversations
xAI announced Team Bots on September 28, 2026, describing them as Grok Bots built around a shared team role or workflow. A Bot can combine relevant files, instructions, and skills with plugins for apps such as Salesforce, Notion, and GitHub, as well as credentials for third-party APIs without a plugin.
The shared Bot retains team expertise, but xAI says each person's conversations remain private. It keeps separate context and memories for each user while drawing on skills shared across the team.
Slack collaboration and coding workflows
Teams can invite a Bot into a Slack channel using its own handle, where people can ask questions, contribute context, and see its responses. xAI's engineering example connects a Bot to project Slack channels and tools including Notion, Linear, Hex, Datadog, and Cursor. The company says that Bot can triage bug reports, create tickets, and launch Cursor Cloud Agents for well-defined fixes.
These are examples xAI gives of internal use, not a claim that every Team Bot automatically has those integrations or capabilities. The announcement says plugins may be connected by each person or configured for the whole team.
