Claude Team plan pricing: Standard seats, Premium seats and Enterprise

The Claude Team plan costs $25 per seat per month for a Standard seat, or $20 billed annually, and $125 for a Premium seat, or $100 billed annually. It takes 2 to 150 people, you can mix the two seat types, and every seat includes Claude Code. A Standard seat gets 1.25 times Pro's usage per session and a Premium seat 6.25 times, each with a weekly limit across all models. Limits belong to each member, not to a shared team pool.

Enterprise works differently: $20 per seat per month billed annually, 20 seats at least, and every token billed at API rates on top of the seat.

How much does the Claude Team plan cost for a whole team?

Multiply seats by the seat price. Ten Standard seats billed annually come to $2,400 a year, the example Anthropic gives itself. Annual billing saves 20% on either seat. A few common sizes:

TeamBilled monthly, a monthBilled annually, a monthBilled annually, a year
2 Standard$50$40$480
5 Standard$125$100$1,200
10 Standard$250$200$2,400
8 Standard, 2 Premium$450$360$4,320
20 Standard$500$400$4,800

Adding a member or upgrading a seat is prorated and charged immediately. Removing a member gives no immediate credit or refund.

What is the difference between Standard and Premium seats?

Usage. A Premium seat costs five times as much as a Standard seat and gets five times its usage; both include Claude Code. The pricing page also lists Fable within 50% of the weekly limits on Premium seats. Most teams can start on Standard and give Premium to the people who keep hitting limits, since seat types can be reassigned under Organization settings > Members, in the Tier dropdown. Moving someone up is charged at once, prorated. Moving someone down takes effect at the next renewal.

Claude Team vs Pro and Max: which costs less for the same usage?

On monthly billing they all cost the same for the same usage: $20 for each "one Pro" of session usage. The saving is in annual billing, where Team reaches $16 against Pro's $17, and Max and Ultra have no annual price at all. This is our arithmetic from Anthropic's multiples.

PlanPriceSession usage, Pro = 1xPrice per 1x (annual)
Pro$20 a month ($17 billed annually)1x$20 ($17)
Team Standard$25 a seat ($20 billed annually)1.25x$20 ($16)
Max$100 a month, monthly only5x$20
Team Premium$125 a seat ($100 billed annually)6.25x$20 ($16)

The table covers sessions only. Anthropic says Max gets five times Pro every week as well, but it publishes no weekly multiple for Team seats, so a Premium seat's week may not stretch as far as its session does. Nothing on Team matches Ultra at $200, which has no 5-hour limit on a verified account. Two people on Pro pay $40 a month against $50 for two Standard seats, or $34 against $40 billed annually. The extra buys a quarter more usage per session and one bill. A single developer cannot buy Team at all, because the plan starts at two.

What usage limits does a Claude Team seat have?

Two, and both are per member: a limit per session and a weekly limit across all models that resets at a fixed time assigned to your account. One heavy user cannot use up a colleague's allowance, and a colleague's spare usage cannot rescue them. Anthropic gives multiples of Pro rather than token counts. How these windows behave is in Claude Code rate limits explained.

What happens when a seat hits its limit?

The member waits for the reset, unless the owner has pre-purchased usage credits, which let people keep working past their limits at standard API rates. Owners set a monthly spend limit for the organization and can turn on auto-reload. A separate allowance is easy to confuse with this: Team plans also receive pooled API credits, up to $500 a month (three Standard and two Premium seats get $260), but those are for the Claude Platform. Anthropic says they cannot be used in Claude Code or the Claude apps.

Claude Team vs Enterprise: what does Enterprise cost?

The Enterprise seat is $20 per month, billed annually, with an annual commitment and at least 20 seats. Anthropic's Enterprise article gives 50 for sales-assisted contracts. The seat includes no tokens and has no per-seat usage limit: every token is billed at standard API rates on top. Self-serve plans buy credits upfront and share them across the organization, sales-assisted plans are billed monthly in arrears, and usage billing cannot be switched off. Self-serve seats cannot be removed during the annual term.

The minimum makes the comparison simple. Twenty Enterprise seats cost $4,800 a year before anyone runs a prompt, which is exactly what twenty Standard seats cost billed annually with usage included up to their limits. So Enterprise is not the cheap option at any size. It buys controls: SCIM, audit logs, a Compliance API, custom data retention, IP allowlisting and a HIPAA-ready offering. It also removes per-seat limits, which suits a company that would rather pay for what it uses than watch developers stop.

Knowing which seats need Premium

Settings > Usage on claude.ai and /usage in Claude Code show each member their own limits, but only when they go and look. SessionWatcher keeps the session and weekly numbers in the Mac menu bar and warns before a limit stops a task, which also tells a developer whether they are hitting limits often enough to justify a $125 seat. A company can buy it as Pro for Teams, $40 per seat a year with a 3-seat minimum, Macs only for now. It reads each developer's own login and shows them their own usage; it is not a central dashboard, as tracking usage across a team explains.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Claude Team plan?

A Standard seat is $25 per member per month, or $20 billed annually. A Premium seat is $125, or $100 billed annually. You pay per seat, for 2 to 150 people, and can mix the two seat types.

Is Claude Code included in the Team plan?

Yes. Anthropic says Claude Code is included with every Team plan seat, Standard as well as Premium. Premium seats add usage for heavier workloads.

Do Claude Team seats have usage limits?

Yes, per member rather than for the team as a whole. A Standard seat gets 1.25 times Pro's usage per session and a Premium seat 6.25 times, each with a weekly limit across all models. Owners can pre-purchase usage credits so members can keep working past those limits, billed at standard API rates.

What is the minimum for a Claude Team plan?

Two members. The plan supports up to 150 seats; Anthropic's Enterprise plan requires at least 20.

How much does Claude Enterprise cost?

The self-serve seat is $20 per month, billed annually, with a 20 seat minimum and an annual commitment. The seat includes no tokens: all usage is billed on top at standard API rates, and it cannot be turned off.

Is Claude Team cheaper than Enterprise?

For most teams, yes. Twenty Standard seats billed annually and twenty Enterprise seats both cost $4,800 a year, but the Team seats include usage up to their limits while Enterprise bills every token on top. Enterprise pays off when you need its controls, such as SCIM, audit logs or custom data retention, or when per-seat limits get in the way.
